Jewellery Designer, Kathy Straczynski started creating jewellery from discarded wire and paper at age 7, in Grenada where she grew up. After migrating to Toronto, Canada, she studied Jewellery Arts at George Brown College for Fashion and Arts, where she later graduated as a Goldsmith.
She is inspired by movement and sees beauty in meandering rivers, rainfall and contours found in nature.
Her work is bold, colourful, textured, handmade and highly influenced by her African-Caribbean heritage. Her attention to details beckons imagination which propels her to meticulously create timeless, elegant pieces that will evoke your sense of style. Presently, Kathy continues to explore jewellery making in small batches or as one of a kind, custom pieces, at the Living arts Centre, Mississauga, Ontario, where she is a resident artist.
